My First True Love

This morning while out for a walk with the girls, Ash called me to tell me that my first love had passed away.  For those of you who weren't apart of my childhood, that was Corey Haim.
I remember spending all of my pocket money on every Bop and Tiger Beat magazine that I could find.  Back in the eighties they cost about $8 each and that was really expensive, especially for a 13 year old girl, but they were well worth the money.  My best friend, Frankie and I would scourer the pages at lunch and hope that Corey and River (Frankie's first love) wouldn't be on back to back pages.  Thankfully, we never found that problem.  I will always regret not bidding on the baby teeth and his lock of hair that he was selling on ebay back in the nighties.  I also wish that I had kept my lever arch folder that was full of Corey Haim pictures.  He really was my first and only true love.
I love you Corey.  You will live forever in my heart.  xxx

The constant comparisons and competition with 'what Corey would've done' have kept me on my toes for so long I am not sure how I will cope without them. Women wanted him (well girls did) and men (well, boys) wanted to be like him (sort of). Farewell you sexually non-threatening ripped-jeans aficionado.

Corey Haim, Corey Haim! I didn't believe it when I saw it on the tv this morning. Matt had to get on the internet and confirm it before i believed it, but even then it took a while to sink in. Corey Haim forever.

oh too sad. cory haim graced the covers of my school folders : )
i remember getting picked on on the school bus one day by an older boy who'd grabbed my folder - he started chanting 'corey ooo corey' in a stupid voice too me for the rest of the bus ride home ;)
