I briefly mentioned in this post that Ava has Autism and a part of that means she doesn't really like to be touched or to touch others.  She is very loving and affectionate to us, but it took her two and a half years before she touched Piper.  We never push her and prefer to let her develop in her own time and way.  So you can imagine my delight on Sunday afternoon when I was sitting on the sofa with Felix and Ava came over and kissed him.  It was so beautiful and she was so happy.  It bought tears to my eyes, as I know how big a leap this is for her.  She is so amazing and on Monday morning when I came out of the shower, this is where I found her, curled up on the sofa with Felix.  Ava is so gentle (except when she is pulling her sister's hair) and somewhat elusive with photos and even though she doesn't particularly care for clothing, we fall in love with her a little more each day.
